Finding the right transistor fet substitution is important if you want
the equipment you repair to last longer. Electronic repairers who perform switch mode power supply repair quite often frustrated because
they could not find the original part number and to add things worst they also could not find the right fet replacement or
substitution.
Without a new fet, the power supply would not work. If you repair any latest model of equipment, you will
definetely have difficulty to get the original part number because the parts that you are searching haven’t arrived to your country yet.

money and time to arrange them in the rack! To tackle this problem, I begin to do some research on each of the different mosfet. What I found
in common on those fet ratings are the voltage, ampere, wattage and the ohms value.
The results that I compiled made me found a universal number that can
fit into all 14" and 15" monitor switch mode power supply. The universal mosfet part numbers that I discovered is K1118 or 2SK1118 (JAPANESE
TRANSISTOR CODE). If any brands or models of 14" and 15" monitor came in for repair with no power problem and with a failure in fet, I just
replace the original fet part number with K1118. This method not only solves the power supply problem, it also helps me to save my time and
hassle in finding the original part number.
Whether you are in Monitor repair, TV repair or any other equipment repair, I strongly suggest that
you do your homework and spend more time in doing research by comparing each fet data and hope to find a universal part number for the equipment
that you are working on it. Times are saved due to the speed of repair especially in easily finding the right fet substitution. The mosfet
